Company Background

Travelers is the combination of two companies, one was founded in 1853 in Minnesota as the St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance and the other founded in 1864 in Hartford as Travelers. Over the years it has acquired many other insurance companies and today has over 30,000 employees, and 13,500 agents. Travelers operates in all 50 US states and many foreign countries as well.
